If you’re planning on traveling to Utah for a cosmetic procedure with Dr. Garlick, you can rest assured that he and his team are well-prepared to set you up for success. Since Dr. Garlick and his team see many patients from out-of-state, we are well-equipped to make your surgery experience as stress-free as possible. Our team will provide you with a list of local hotel accommodations, restaurants, and tourist attractions so you can plan your trip accordingly.

What to Expect

During a virtual or in-person consultation, Dr. Garlick will ask you questions about your hopes for the outcome and listen closely to your concerns. You will be asked to fill out a pre-operative questionnaire to help identify the best treatment plan for your unique needs. Dr. Garlick will also ask you to send pictures of the area(s) of treatment from the front, back, and sides before your consultation so he can gain a better understanding of your overall goals and help address your specific questions and concerns.

Whether you’re traveling into town for breast augmentation, abdominoplasty, liposuction, or a full Mommy Makeover, Dr. Garlick will want to see you in person prior to your surgery. He recommends seeing him sooner rather than later. This will give him the chance to complete a full physical evaluation and any pre-operative paperwork, measurements, and photography. As convenient as a virtual appointment may be, only so much can be determined over photos and virtually. Sometimes, the surgery plan discussed previously will need to change when you are seen in person. Dr. Garlick is a big proponent of preparing for your correct surgery, physically, mentally, as well as emotionally. He likes to confirm your surgery plan with you in person — that way, you can begin preparing for the correct surgery. This also avoids any last-minute changes when your surgery day arrives.

Dr Garlick likes for you to arrive at least 1-2 days prior to your actual surgery date. You will be asked to wear compression socks while traveling. Depending on what surgical procedures you are having performed, you will be asked to stay in the area after surgery for anywhere from 3 to 10 days. This helps ensure you are on your way to appropriate healing post-surgery, as well as guarantees you’re close to Dr. Garlick if any emergency arises in the immediate days following surgery, allowing him to take better care of you.
